If you are missing one or more teeth and refuse to have dentures, you may choose to have dental implants as an alternative. Dental implant surgery is a procedure that entails replacement of tooth roots with metal, screwlike posts which replaces missing or damaged teeth with artificial teeth that look and function like natural teeth. This surgery may involve several procedures and will depend on the type of implant and condition of the jawbone. Since the process requires several months for the bone to heal tightly around the implant, it gives a stable support of the new teeth.

Wisdom teeth or the third molar is the most posterior of the three molars in each quadrant of the human dentition. Wisdom teeth usually erupt between late teens and early twenties. Adults usually have four wisdom teeth, one for each quadrant. These teeth may become impacted because there is not enough room in your mouth for them. They may move sideways and may damage neighboring teeth and cause pain. To correct this, you will be recommended to have a panoramic x-ray to determine the condition and position of your wisdom tooth. Eventually, your dentist will recommend extraction to alleviate pain and prevent further damage to neighboring teeth.

Root Canal Treatment is a procedure done to repair and save badly damaged or infected teeth. This is done on patients with inflamed or infected roots of teeth. Endodontists carefully remove the pulp inside the tooth, cleans and disinfects and shapes the root canals, and then covers the space with filling. This procedure entails several visits to the dentist.
